Where to find each setting
Settings is grouped down the left of the settings screen. This table lists every section and what you change in it.
Settings that are not switched on for your workspace do not appear in this list on screen. If a section
here is missing on your screen, that is usually why, and support can tell you which ones apply to your
plan.
Which settings affect your bill
Three sections change what you pay, and they are worth knowing apart, because they are easy to confuse. Plans is where you change plan and where the Overage Usage toggle lives. That toggle is the one setting that decides whether your bill can exceed your plan. With it off, which is the default, your agent stops taking calls when your minutes run out. With it on, calls carry on and the extra is charged. It cannot be switched on for the Free plan. See How billing works. Billing is where your invoices, payment method, and cancellation live. It is where you go to fix a failed card or download an invoice for your finance team. Register Brand carries a one time $49 carrier fee, separate from your plan. See Register your business. What settings do not control
Settings is workspace wide, so anything that belongs to a single agent is not here.Who can change settings
Access to settings depends on your role, and the split matters most for billing. Only the workspace owner, meaning whoever created the workspace, can reach the subscription, verify identity, or register the business. Everyone else can work on agents and listen to calls without seeing the billing at all. Your own Profile and Security & Access are yours regardless of role, since they are your account rather than the workspace. See Who can do what. What else you can do here
- Invite your team from Members.
- Change or cancel your plan from Plans or Billing.
- Verify your identity from Trust Center.
- Register your business for texting from Trust Center.
- Teach your agent names and terms from Vocabulary.
- Add your own contact fields from Custom Fields.
FAQ
Where do I change whether my bill can go over my plan?
Where do I change whether my bill can go over my plan?
In Settings, then Plans, using the Overage Usage toggle. It is off by default, which caps
your bill at your plan and your numbers but stops calls when your minutes run out. It cannot be
enabled on the Free plan. See How billing works.
Where are my invoices?
Where are my invoices?
In Settings, then Billing, where you can download each invoice and update your payment
method. Only the workspace owner can open it. See
How billing works.
Why can't I see some settings sections?
Why can't I see some settings sections?
Two usual reasons: you are not the workspace owner, which hides billing, identity, and business
registration, or the section is not switched on for your workspace. Ask the owner, or contact
support to check what applies to your plan.
Where do I find my workspace ID for the API?
Where do I find my workspace ID for the API?
In Settings, then General, next to your workspace name. Use it in API requests. Your API keys
are in Settings, then API Keys, which is a different section.
What is the difference between Plans and Billing?
What is the difference between Plans and Billing?
Plans is what you are buying: your plan, and whether extra usage is allowed. Billing is how
you pay: your card, your invoices, and cancelling. Change plan in Plans, fix a failed card in
Billing.
Where do I change my agent's voice or greeting?
Where do I change my agent's voice or greeting?
Not in settings. Voice, greeting, and prompt belong to each agent, so you change them on the agent
itself rather than workspace wide. See Choose a voice.
Can I have more than one workspace?
Can I have more than one workspace?
Yes, and General is where you choose which one opens by default. Each workspace has its own
agents, numbers, plan, and billing, so usage in one does not draw on the other’s allowance.
Where do I turn on texting for my number?
Where do I turn on texting for my number?
Not in settings directly. Texting is switched on per number under Phone numbers, but in the US it
is only available once your business is registered in Trust Center. See
Text messages.
