Before you start
- Owner access. Only the workspace owner can verify identity for the workspace.
- A valid government issued photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence.
- A device with a camera, since you will be asked to photograph the ID.
- Where it happens: Settings, then Trust Center, then Verify Identity.
Steps
- Go to Settings, then Trust Center, then Verify Identity.
- Select Verify Identity Now. Brilo sends you to Stripe’s verification portal.
- Photograph your government issued ID when Stripe asks for it.
- Complete the checks Stripe presents, then confirm your information.
- Return to Brilo. The Trust Center shows your status.
You will know it worked when
- Verify Identity shows Identity Verified with a green confirmation.
- Outbound calling and campaigns are available in your workspace.
- Register Brand becomes available in Trust Center, if you intend to send texts.
What verification unlocks
Identity verification gates the features that place calls or messages to other people, because those are the features abuse targets. Verifying is what separates a real business from an account opened to send unwanted calls.
Answering incoming calls does not need verification. A business that only wants its phone answered can
build an agent, buy a number, and go live without verifying anything.
What Brilo does with your ID
Your ID is handled by Stripe, not stored by Brilo. Brilo receives the outcome, verified or not verified, and keeps no copy of the document you photographed. Verification is separate from your card details and separate from business registration. Verifying your identity confirms you are a real person. Registering your business confirms your company to the US carriers, and it is a different form with a different fee. See Register your business. What else you can do here
- Register your business once verified, to send texts.
- Turn on text messages after registration is approved.
- Start a calling campaign, which verification unlocks.
- See who can do what if you are not the owner.
- Review your workspace settings for what else lives in settings.
If it did not work
Verify Identity says only the workspace owner can do this. Verification is the owner’s to complete. Ask whoever created the workspace to do it. See Who can do what. Stripe would not accept my ID. The usual causes are glare, a cropped edge, or an expired document. Retry in better light with the whole document in frame, and check the expiry date. I verified but outbound calling is still blocked. Sign out and back in so your workspace picks up the new status. If it persists, contact support@brilo.ai.FAQ
Why do I need to verify my identity?
Why do I need to verify my identity?
To unlock outbound calling, campaigns, and business registration for texting. These are the features

numbers everyone shares. Answering incoming calls needs no verification.
How long does identity verification take?
How long does identity verification take?
A few minutes. You photograph a government issued ID in Stripe’s portal and the result is usually

whoever created the workspace to complete it. See Who can do what.

Is identity verification the same as registering my business?
Is identity verification the same as registering my business?
No, they are two steps in that order. Verification confirms you are a real person and takes minutes.
Business registration confirms your company to the US carriers so you can text, costs $49, and takes
a week or two.
Does Brilo keep a copy of my ID?
Does Brilo keep a copy of my ID?
No. Stripe handles the document and Brilo receives only the outcome, verified or not verified. No copy

I verified my identity, so why still no option to send texts?
I verified my identity, so why still no option to send texts?
Because verification is the first of two steps. Texting also needs your business registered with the
US carriers, which is a separate form and approval. See
Register your business.
